A huge part of the prob;ems is the lawsuit factor. Doctors have to conduct numerous test, in case they are sued. 99% of all a OBGYNs will be sued during their practice years. Doctors also have to pay around $250,000 a year for malpractice insurance. It is often cheaper for doctors to pay the lawsuit than go to court, even if they are not guilty.People like John Edwards became a multi millionaire by suing doctors. He is not alone. Tort reform would go a long way in lowering healthcare costs, but Lawyers association dontes millions to politicians.mostly Democrats. Unless this changes, healthcare costs will continue to increase.
